Location

See the beautiful Bay of Islands region by both land and sea with this two-day combo package; The Double Dip. Begin your adventure in the area with a dolphin watching cruise with Fullers Great Sights' a popular operator in the region. Aboard a luxury catamaran, you'll be taken on a journey to admire (and hopefully cruise through) the Hole in the Rock formation as well as the stunning views of the neighbouring Cape Brett Peninsula. If you do happen to spot a playful pod of dolphins and the weather permits, you can dive in to the water and swim with the dolphins for an additional price (May - October only).

The next day provides a full day of adventure and sights with a coach tour into New Zealand's Far North towards Cape Reinga. Stopping off at various attractions along the way including driving the bus along the long and wide Ninety Mile Beach and trying your hand at sand boarding down Te Paki Stream's giant dunes. Once at Cape Reinga you'll be blown away by the spectacular sweeping views of the surrounding ocean.

This is a scenic and convenient way to explore the gorgeous Bay of Islands region with visits to some of the most popular attractions and sights. Book The Double Dip tour online today to avoid missing out.

We started the afternoon cruise at the Fullers Office where we presented our voucher to a very helpful and pleasant woman. We were lucky in that we had a fine day with only a slightly chilly breeze . After grabbing some lunch at the local shop we embarked onto the boat, which was comfortable and clean. We were greeted by the 4 staff members and set off on our journey. After clearing the jetty the Captain provided us with information on our trip and continued to do so throughout the day. He was both informative and humorous. First stop was Russell Island, then we continued out around various Island until we arrived at the hole in the rock. The Captain decided the tide and currents were right to attempt a passage through the hole, and we made it without any problems. Quite exciting as the hole did not look big enough. We then journeyed back to Piahi. During the cruise we were lucky to spot a pod of dolphins, two killer whales and a large school of fish. The only drawback was that the prices for food and beverages was costly. We had an enjoyable trip and would recommend it.
